Who this is for
If your program or clinical placement says “bring a current BLS card,” you are in the right place. Send the exact requirement if you want help confirming the course.
BLS requirements for school and clinicals
School, program, and clinical-site rules can differ and can change. Use the current requirement connected to your own cohort, deadline, and placement.
Independent local training: Sutton Health & Safety Training is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the University of Mount Saint Vincent, Mercy University, or any clinical placement. The school or clinical site controls its own requirements.

Questions students ask me
Which BLS class do I need for nursing school?
Many nursing and clinical programs ask for the American Heart Association BLS Provider course. Send the exact wording from your school, and Sutton will help you choose the right class.
How long is the BLS class?
The full instructor-led American Heart Association BLS Provider course runs approximately 4.5 hours including breaks. A renewal course is approximately four hours. HeartCode skills sessions are separate and scheduled according to the learner's completed online portion.
Where are classes held?
Individual classes are available in the Yonkers and Scarsdale area. Student cohorts can ask about a private date and suitable training space.
What if I also need First Aid?
I offer BLS plus First Aid together for $189 per person, so you cover both in one sitting.
How long is the card good for?
The American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard is generally valid for two years. Check the date on your card and your employer or school deadline when planning renewal.
Can Sutton help with ACLS or PALS?
Yes. ACLS and PALS are coordinated by request. Share the course, deadline, and location you need, and Sutton will confirm the available path.
